Krista Spelt - Past PresidentKrista Spelt is a graduate from the University of Alberta and has a Bachelors Degree in Recreation Admininstration and Community Development. She began began her sport involvement with Red Deer Gymnastics in 1998. She is currently holding the title of President / Chairperson of the Alberta Sport development Centre - Central but has been involved as a Director since 2000. In addition to the her involvement with ASDCC, Krista was a member of the marketing team for the 2006 Alberta Summer Games. Krista has also worked and been involved with the Red Deer College Foundation. Krista currently lives in Red Deer and is married to Troy, in which they raise 3 beautiful girls together. |
Greg Atkinson - PresidentGreg Atkinson has been active in the amateur sports world of Red Deer for over thirty years. He has been involved in the Central Alberta Football Officials’ Association as both an on-field official and an executive member. Greg has officiated at provincial high school championship games, the 1996 Football Canada Cup and the 2004 Alberta Summer Games in Okotoks. In 1988, Greg was recognized for his contribution to football officiating when he received the Harold Ferguson Award from Football Alberta. From 1994 to 2003, Greg helped amateur swimming in Alberta as a meet official and an executive member with the Red Deer Marlins. In 2002, he served as the Provincial Sports Advisor for swimming at the Alberta Summer Games in Camrose. Greg held the position of Director of Sports for the 2006 Alberta Summer Games in Red Deer. He oversaw the competitions in seventeen different sports at various venues in the City of Red Deer and Red Deer County. He is currently the Vice President for the Alberta Sport Development Centre-Central. Greg Atkinson has been a resident of Red Deer for thirty-four years. He moved to Red Deer to join Red Deer Public Schools district as a teacher and enjoyed a lengthy teaching and administrative career with the district, retiring in June 2007. Greg has continued contact with the public schools serving as a substitute teacher and filling short-term contract positions. Greg is married to Eileen and they have one daughter, Jennifer who is a student at the University of Alberta. |

Barb and her husband Kim are currently living in Red Deer and enjoying golf at the Red Deer Golf and Country Club. |
Trevor Krall - Secretary/TreasurerTrevor Krall grew up in the small town of Olds, AB and attended Olds High School. He has always been very active in sports and always enjoy playing Badminton, Hockey and Weight Lifting. Trevor attended Red Deer College for 2 years and then transferred to the University of Lethbridge where he graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Management. He enjoys recreational activities such as Hiking and Camping and has always been very involved with Dirt Biking. As a recent addition to the Board of Directors, Trevor was selected as the new Secretary/ Treasurer for the Alberta Sport Development Centre - Central. He will be a great asset to the organziation as he works in Red Deer with Investors Group Financial Services Inc. and is Division Director with the company. Trevor is married with 2 children and enjoy's camping and biking in the west country. |
Gord Inglis - DirectorGord is currently the Chairperson of Kinesiology & Sport Studies at Red Deer College. He also loves teaching and is an instructor at the college as well. Gord is an active member of the community serving as Board Member of Tennis Alberta and Director of The Red Deer Tennis Club. Gord has been invloved in the Alberta Sport Development Centre – Central since the begining as a founding member. He is currently a Director and Program Committee Chair but has served as past President. He resides in Red Deer and is a father of 3 grown children. |
Phil Sergeant - DirectorPhil is an active citzen in Central Alberta serving on a number of boards in the sporting community. Phil has been a Director of ASDCC since 2002 and acts as a representative for the Red Deer Skating Club. He has been part of the Red Deer Skating Club for the past 7 years. He became involved with the skating club when his daughter began figure skating. Phil also serves on the Westerner Silver Buckle Rodeo Committee and has for the past 21 years. Phil resides in Red Deer and is marrried to Amy and has a daughter, Jessica-Amy. |
Sandre Bevan - DirectorSandre Bevan has her Masters Degree in Education and is currently the Vice-Principal at Glendale Middle School. She has lived and taught in Red Deer for 26 years (except for one year when she did a teaching exchange in Australia). Sandre is very involved in the sporting community as she has taught and coached (mainly basketball) at Lindsay Thurber and Hunting Hills High Schools for 20 years. In addition, she has coached volleyball, track and field, and cross country running. She is a fully certified Level 3 NCCP coach and has coached the Provincial Under 19 women's basketball team to 2 bronze medals - 1 of which was at Canada Summer Games. Ms. Bevan lives in Red Deer with her two daughters, aged 16 and 19. |
Shelley Gagnon - DirectorShelley Gagnon has always been active in all sports, however found that her true passion was volleyball. She played two years at Red Deer College, and was an ACAC and CCAA All star. She then moved on to the University of Alberta, where she was a Canada West All Star and U of A Female Athlete of the Year. She played professionally in Europe and her senior women’s team from Calgary won three Canadian championships and a NORCECA championship. Shelley and her husband Terry currently live in Innisfail and have two small children. As her children get involved in sports, she now finds herself volunteering on various community sports teams and committees. |

Barb Marsh is currently the Manager, Hockey Development, Hockey Alberta and has been with the association for over ten years developing high performance athletes and coaches across the province. Barb has always been very active in sport ranging from being a member of the Red Deer College basketball team to being the Head Coach of the Women's Red Deer College hockey team from 2000-2003 winning two ACAC provincial championships. Barb is fully certified in High Performance I and Theory 3 and has been a staff member of the past two Canada Winter Games. Barb is currently not coaching but working on becoming a high performance golfer within Central Alberta.
